Fan Fiction Rules & Terms
1. What Fan Fiction Is (and Is Not)
Fan fiction is a creative interpretation inspired by the Saga of Code universe.
Fans may write stories set in the world
Fans may invent new characters, locations, and events
Fan fiction is non-canon by default
Nothing written by fans alters, overrides, or defines official canon.
2. Canon & Authority
Only works published by the author define canon
Fan fiction may explore alternatives, “what ifs,” or side stories
If fan fiction contradicts canon, canon always wins
Think of fan fiction as:
parallel echoes, not history.
3. Characters & Major Events
Allowed:
Original characters (OCs)
Side stories
Background perspectives
Missing moments
Alternate timelines
Restricted:
No rewriting or invalidating major canonical events
No definitive endings for core characters
No “this is the real truth” claims
You can imagine.
You can speculate.
You cannot overwrite.
4. Tone & Respect
This universe is dark, complex, and human — but not lawless.
Not allowed:
Hate speech
Harassment of real people or groups
Sexual content involving minors
Pornographic content presented as canon
Glorification of real-world extremism
Dark themes are allowed.
Dehumanization is not.
5. Attribution & Ownership
You own your fan fiction
You do not own the universe
By publishing here, you grant permission for:
Reading
Sharing within the community
Non-commercial display
The original creator will not use your work commercially without permission.
6. No Monetization
Fan fiction must remain non-commercial.
No paywalls
No NFTs
No selling
No “official” branding
This protects everyone legally.
7. Labels & Clarity (Important)
All fan works must be clearly marked as:
Fan Fiction / Non-Canon
If applicable, also tag:
AU (Alternate Universe)
OC-heavy
Dark
Experimental
Meta
Clarity prevents confusion — and drama.
8. Community Moderation
Content may be removed if it:
Violates these rules
Intentionally misleads readers about canon
Is posted in bad faith
Moderation exists to protect the space, not control creativity.
9. The Spirit of the World (Unwritten Rule)
This universe values:
Consequences
Logic
Humanity
Ambivalence
Choice without moral hand-holding
Fan fiction doesn’t have to imitate the style —
but it should respect the weight of the world.
10. Final Note
Fan fiction is not a threat to the Saga.
It’s proof the world is alive.
Create boldly.
But remember where the roots are.
