Fan Fiction Rules & Terms

1. Nature of Fan Fiction
Fan fiction is non- Grand-Canon by default
All fan works are preserved as meta-canon memory artifacts. Each submission is assigned a unique MEMORY ID and archived by Code as an altered, speculative, or corrupted memory fragment.
The existence of a memory does not imply its truth.

2. Grand-Canon & Authority
Only works published by the author define Grand-Canon
• Grand-Canon represents the verified timeline
• Fan fiction may explore alternatives, “what ifs,” side stories, or divergences
• If a fan work contradicts Grand-Canon, Grand-Canon always prevails.
• Think of fan fiction—meta-canon—as: parallel echoes, alternative histories.

3. Grand-Canon Elevation
In rare cases, a fan work may be elevated to Grand-Canon status.
• This occurs only by explicit agreement with the author
• Under separate terms and direct communication
• Elevation is intentional and never automatic
• Until confirmed, all fan works remain meta-canon memory artifacts.

4. Memory Scope & Divergence
Fan fiction may freely depict:
• Original characters (OCs)
• Side stories and peripheral narratives
• Background or alternate perspectives
• Missing or implied moments
• Alternate timelines and outcomes
Works that:
• redefine major canonical events
• assign definitive endings to core characters
• claim exclusive or “true” authority are classified as high-divergence memory streams.
They are archived, not verified.

5. Tone & Content Boundaries
(Final, with Authorial Voice Note)
This universe explores dark, complex, and uncomfortable themes.
However, depiction must serve the story, not exist for shock, gratification, or authorial preaching.
Not permitted:
• Sexual content involving minors — under any circumstances
Such realities, if relevant, may only be acknowledged or implied without depiction or detail.
Pornographic content created for its own sake
Sexual scenes are acceptable only when narratively justified, serving character, power dynamics, trauma, or consequence.
Pornography without narrative purpose is not accepted.

Graphic violence or gore created for its own sake
Violence may be depicted when it serves the story.
Gore as spectacle or indulgence is not accepted.

Hate speech or harassment targeting real or historical people or groups
Glorification or justification of real-world extremist ideologies

6. Authorial Voice & Moralization
This universe avoids overt moralization, slogans, and ideological siding.
• Stories should show, not instruct
• Judgments should emerge from events and consequences, not authorial declarations
• Statements such as “this group is evil,” “this country is garbage,” or similar slogans are discouraged when presented as the author’s voice
If such views appear:
• They must belong clearly to a character
• The narrative must justify why that character thinks this way
• Blind, unexamined hatred without context or consequence is not accepted
This is a space for natural storytelling, not manifestos.

Clarifications
• Fictional characters or fictional groups may express hate, cruelty, or dehumanizing views
• These views may be shown as part of the narrative
• They must not be framed as inherently correct, heroic, or desirable
Dark themes are allowed.
Simplistic moral preaching is not.

Guiding Principle
This world does not tell the reader what to think.
It shows what happens — and lets consequences speak.

Editorial Note
If a sentence could be posted on Twitter without context, it probably does not belong in the narrative.

7. Attribution & Ownership
• Authors retain ownership of their fan works
• The Saga of Code universe remains the property of its creator
• By publishing fanfiction, authors grant permission for:
• Non-commercial display
• Reading and sharing within the community
Fan works will not be used commercially without explicit permission.

8. No Monetization
Fan fiction must remain non-commercial.
No:
• Paywalls
• Sales
• NFTs
“Official” branding or claims

9. Labeling & Clarity
All fan works must be clearly labeled as:
Fan Fiction / Meta-Canon
Optional tags are encouraged:
• AU
OC-heavy
Dark
Experimental
Meta
Clarity prevents confusion.

10. Moderation & Preservation
Content may be removed or reclassified if it:
• Violates these terms
• Intentionally misrepresents itself as Grand-Canon
• Is posted in bad faith
Code archives divergence. Moderation protects the space.

11. Final Note
Fanfiction is not a threat to canon. It is proof the world is alive.
Some memories are accurate. Some are distorted. Some are dangerous. Code keeps them all.
